Crackdown on Fake Certificates
The Minister of Education disclosed that over 22,500 Nigerians obtained fake degree certificates from unapproved institutions in Togo and Benin Republic.
These certificates will be cancelled as part of the government’s effort to combat degree certificate racketeering.
The government’s decision to invalidate these certificates is firm, and those found with such qualifications will face serious consequences.
Impact on Public and Private Sectors
The government plans to identify and remove individuals in its employment who hold these fake certificates.
The private sector is also encouraged to take similar actions to uphold the integrity of qualifications within Nigeria.
This move is intended to protect the country’s reputation and ensure that only valid degrees are recognised.
